At the end of September, Kok announced the arrival of the baby himself during a performance on the beach of Scheveningen. He showed a photo of an ultrasound on stage, after which the other band members screamed. “The first Goldband baby is a fact,” Boaz shouted to the frenzied audience.

At Het Paard, where the 3FM Awards took place on Thursday evening, Kok told the happy news of the final arrival of the little sprout. “I don’t know what else to say, she’s already crazy bitch.” The girl is named after Boaz’s father. The name is also inspired by the character Kees from Flodder, played by Tatjana Šimić. Kok called his girlfriend Loes at the event to ask if he could reveal the name. “Because of the GDPR,” joked Goldband colleague Karel Gerlach. Images of Kees have not yet been shared.

Boaz was proposed to by his partner Loes last December during a show in Alkmaar. The concert was briefly interrupted halfway through when Boaz Kok’s girlfriend walked onto the stage and asked him the big question. Boaz said yes.
