Color and coziness: the housing wishes of mother and daughter from Sint Pancras

The metamorphosis

Interior stylist Djamilla got to work on the styling in the living room. She immediately understood the family’s need for more coziness and warmth in their home. She chose a color palette inspired by the 70s, with different shades of brown that add warmth, combined with vibrant orange. She decided to repeat the dark color of the floor in other places, creating a sense of coherence. While a lot changed in terms of colors, the team decided to mainly reuse existing furniture.

Breathing new life into furniture

Patrick took care of the large cupboard in the living room. He sanded the surface, gave it a new layer of lacquer, gave it a new color and used wallpaper on the back wall for the wow effect. He chose a wallpaper with a light glitter, which makes the pattern really stand out. The cupboard has undergone a major metamorphosis and is now a real eye-catcher in the renovated living room.

A cozy dining area

The same color palette is used in the dining area to create unity in the space. Patrick has wallpapered part of the wall with a cheerful, colorful and warm print. He placed a decorative frame around this part. This not only looks very playful, you also have a beautiful finish.

The effect of decorative mouldings

The decorative moldings are also reflected on the wall above the seating area. The frames are painted in the same color as the wall itself. This creates depth through the 3D effect and makes a ‘bare’ wall unique.

The end result

Bianca and Sacha enter their new living room full of nerves. They are speechless when they see the end result: “How wonderful, we could never have imagined this ourselves!” Their expectations have been exceeded. The space has been given an atmosphere and coziness. Bianca is very happy with her new chair and she is happy that the team took her height into account. The dining room chairs fit perfectly.
