London’s Celeste Hartley has had no success in love over the past six years. None of the men she dated seemed to want a serious relationship anymore. That’s why the single woman took a different approach. She flew to Malaga on April 19 to go on a date with a Spanish man she met on the dating app Hinge. And surprisingly, the two hit it off right away. “This is what life is about: doing exciting things and taking risks,” she says on TikTok. “And luckily for me it went well.”

It wasn’t love at first sight, Hartley admits. “I came across it on Hinge, but I didn’t like it. But then he sent me a funny message and we started talking. He asked a lot of questions and made an effort to really get to know me. After a few weeks we decided to meet in Malaga,” he said.

However, there was a possibility that the 28-year-old man she was flying to Spain for was not the person he claimed to be. But that didn’t worry Celeste. “I was very careful and had a team of friends ready to help me if things went wrong. I thought it was worth doing anyway, regardless of whether I had a date with a strange man or not,” she says.

However, the ‘adventure’ with her date went more than well. “I was very nervous, but also excited. I met him at the airport and it was the most surreal experience ever,” she continues. “We walked around and chatted together all weekend. He did everything to make sure I had a good time. He paid for our stay and was very generous. This is what life is about. Doing exciting things and taking risks. And luckily for me it went well.”

Unfortunately, Hartley had to return home after the weekend. She shared the long-awaited update on TikTok, where her video was viewed millions of times. “The date went so well that I have now deleted Hinge,” it sounds. “He has already visited me in London and we have decided to try a long-distance relationship. So if you ever have to give up dating in London, move abroad.”
