88-year-old Ivan Vivsianyk, resident of the village of Ocheretyne in the Donetsk region, managed to escape the Russian occupation in a remarkable way. He now tells this to the Ukrainian news channel 1+1. Russian soldiers took his passport, so he decided to flee on foot at night. The eighty-year-old walked under fire in the dark for no less than six hours, until he met a driver along the way who offered to give him a lift. Now the grandfather resides in Dnipro, where he is waiting for a new Ukrainian passport.
