The weekend starts on Saturday partly to heavily cloudy outside. And that doesn’t seem likely to change in the coming days. We will also have to make peace with rain next week. But not everything is doom and gloom, says our weatherman Frank Duboccage. “It’s not yet spring, but the temperatures are already moving in the right direction.”

In the evening and during the night from Saturday to Sunday it will remain partly to heavily cloudy and a rain zone, accompanied by thunderstorms from France, will move through the country. The disturbance is more active in the west. The minimums fluctuate between 8 degrees at the Ardennes heights and 11 or 12 degrees elsewhere.
Sunday it will be windy with broad clear skies and cloud fields, sometimes with a few showers. The maximum temperatures are between 12 and 16 degrees. The wind becomes quite strong, and sometimes strong at sea, from south-southwest or south-west. Gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour are possible and locally even more.
Monday starts sunny in the northwestern half of the country. More cumulus clouds will appear during the day with a chance of local showers. In the southeast there will be more cloud cover all day and the chance of rain and showers increases. That may be accompanied by some commotion. The maximum temperatures are around 13 or 14 degrees in the High Fens, around 15 degrees at the sea and between 16 and 18 degrees elsewhere.
