American presidential candidate Robert Kennedy had a worm in his brain for more than ten years

Robert Kennedy, a scion of the famous Irish-American family, suffered so much from memory loss and a lack of mental acuity in 2010 that he had himself examined by several top neurologists. According to medical specialists in The New York Times it is likely that Kennedy had a pork tapeworm larva in his brain. Such a larva can live there for years without causing any problems. But they can also cause great harm, often when they begin to die, causing inflammation.

Fit candidate

Kennedy’s spokesman says he has made a full recovery and that there is nothing wrong with his brain. She laughed when asked whether his health problems could play a role in the presidential elections. “That’s a hilarious suggestion, considering the competition.” At 70, Kennedy is younger than Democrat Joe Biden (81) and Republican Donald Trump (77).

Kennedy presents himself as the relatively younger and fit candidate, but has more health problems. He has been hospitalized four times for a heart rhythm disorder. He also suffers from spasmodic dysphonia, which causes his vocal cords to cramp. This makes Kennedy speak more difficult and often sounds hoarse.

Kennedy announced his candidacy for the American presidency in April last year, first as a Democrat, but in October as an independent. His family is certainly not thrilled about the candidacy.
