About forty renowned restaurants, star chefs and culinary specialty shops are ready for the 2024 edition of Antwerpen Proeft. They serve for four days signature dishes in small portions, for a reasonable price from 6 euros. The doors open on Thursday at 12 noon in the Waagnatie.

The buzzing names include three-star chef Viki Geunes (Zilte restaurant), star chef Wout Bru (Le Grand Verre from Durbuy) and star chef Roger van Damme (Het Gebaar). “Also the famous Jewish chef Tulli Padwa, star restaurants Fine Fleur and Nebo, acclaimed restaurants such as Ukiyo, Mey and Arrikiiati and ambitious newcomers such as Teatro, Thai by Sanito, Delrobah and Hart & Ziel come to operate a stand. Nowhere else can you taste so many top products and quality at one time. There are also cooking demonstrations, master classes and tastings with well-known minds at the ATAG Live Stage,” co-organizer Claudia Engelen goes over some of the highlights.

Tickets can be purchased online for 13.50 euros and are also available at the door. “We don’t work with time slots, you choose when you come to our festival and how long you stay. Everyone also receives a free drink offered by Bru. Children born in 2012 or later can enter for free. With both indoor and outdoor covered stands of restaurants, bars and terraces, we can handle all weather conditions. The interior design was completely rethought this year.”

The food festival takes place on Thursday, May 9 from 12 noon, Friday, May 10 from 4 p.m., Saturday, May 11 from 2 p.m. and Sunday, May 12 from 12 noon. The complete list of restaurants and dishes can be found on the website www.tast.be. (determine)
