On Monday, Crown Prince Moulay Hassan presided over the opening of the 16th edition of the Moroccan Agricultural Fair (SIAM). From April 22 to 28, Meknes will be buzzing with 70 participating countries, 1,500 exhibitors and numerous dignitaries, under the theme “Climate and Agriculture: For sustainable and resilient production systems”.
Moulay Hassan opened the official ceremony on April 22, presenting three certificates of recognition for the distinctive labels of origin and quality to deserving groups of producers of certified regional products.

During his extensive tour through the different poles of the fair, Moulay Hassan showed great interest in the latest developments in the agricultural sector. He delved into the “Agri-Digital” pool, which highlights the role of digital technologies in more efficient and resilient agriculture. The significant expansion of the “Regional Products” pool, which highlights Moroccan agricultural diversity, also attracted his attention.
The Crown Prince was a fervent supporter of innovation and sustainability, values that are central to this edition of the SIAM. In particular, he visited the “Water and Irrigation” and “Research and Innovation” stands at the Ministry of Agriculture’s “Generation Green” pavilion.

SIAM 2024 is a unique opportunity for professionals and the general public to discover the latest innovations in agriculture and agri-food. The fair is also an opportunity to promote Moroccan agricultural and livestock production and valorize the key sectors of the regional economy.
