Heavy family drama in Oklahoma City in the US. A father murdered his family, except for one son. When the 10-year-old boy woke up, he saw that both his parents and three brothers were dead. “Let it be clear: what happened in that home was a massacre,” police said.
According to police, Jonathan Candy (42) shot and killed not only his 39-year-old wife Lindsay Candy, but also his sons Dylan (18), Ethan (14) and Lucas (12). He then allegedly killed himself with his firearm.
The massacre is said to have followed an argument between the man and his wife on Sunday night. The police do not know why the father spared his fourth son, nor why the man suddenly went on such a rampage. There was no history of domestic violence and the family had never come into contact with the police.
The boy who survived and was unharmed is being cared for by family. The child told police he slept through the noise of the gunshots, then woke up Monday morning, saw the bodies and called 911. “His bedroom door was closed and a fan was running,” said the police, who see no reason to doubt the boy’s version.
