31-year-old Latumahina drove the same type of black Mini Cooper as the intended target, an Amsterdam drug criminal.

“The violent and ruthless actions of the suspects have caused immense and irreparable suffering to the mother, father, partner, daughter, other family members and friends of Djordy Latumahina,” the public prosecutor said in the indictment on Monday. “For the surviving relatives, the loss of Djordy will last a lifetime, and with his death their happiness in life has also been destroyed.”

On October 8, 2016, Latumahina and his family drove into the parking garage under the apartment complex on Koningin Wilhelminaplein in Overtoomse Veld where they lived, when two gunmen opened fire on the car. He was hit by eight bullets and died instantly. His girlfriend, who was sitting next to him, was seriously injured. Their two-year-old daughter, in a child seat in the back seat, was narrowly missed by the hail of bullets.

PGP messages

Previously, five others involved in the shocking shooting were sentenced to very long prison terms – for complicity in the murder and for attempted murder of the victim’s girlfriend and their daughter. These sentences increased to 30 years (the maximum temporary prison sentence).

Justice sees plenty of evidence that Noureddine H., alias ‘Hermes’, ‘Herm’ or ‘Mous’, gave the order in decrypted PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) messages, testimonies and additional evidence. He gave orders and also described paying the other suspects their monthly ‘wages’.

Liquidation attempt in Berlin

Like several co-suspects, Noureddine H. is also accused of wanting to have the infamous Amsterdam criminal Naoufal F., ‘Noffel’, liquidated in Berlin in the late summer of 2015. That failed because F. no longer appeared there when the murder squad was looking for him. Naoufal F. has now been sentenced to life in prison for directing a liquidation and a failed murder plan.

Moreover, according to the judiciary, Noureddine H. played a key role in the criminal organization with the aim of murder. He is also charged with possessing two false Austrian IDs. He was arrested in Spain on May 23, 2021 and extradited to the Netherlands on June 7, 2021. He has been in custody ever since. Because the handling of his case took too long, the prosecutor is not asking for 30 years in prison, but 29 years and 9 months.
