King’s Day includes a festive orange drink. Janny van der Heijden makes an alcohol-free cocktail, with orange juice, ginger juice and mint. Adjust the quantities to the glass (large or small).

Ingredients, by the glass

  • 2 parts orange juice
  • 1 dash ginger juice (not syrup!)
  • 1 part mineral water with sparkling water

Preparation of non-alcoholic cocktail

Start with the green confetti. Take the leaves from the mint sprigs and put them in a mortar with sugar. Grind this into a grainy mass. First pour the orange juice and some ginger juice into a glass and top up with sparkling water.

Sprinkle with a little green confetti and garnish with a slice of orange

To make it more festive

The cocktail looks even more beautiful if the rim of the glass is dipped in the green confetti before the cocktail is poured into the glass.
