This week you can buy “very nice champagne” – the words of Alain Bloeykens – at half the price, there is a one plus one free with sunscreen and you have to go to Carrefour for the best promotion: one plus two free with hand dishwashing liquid from Dreft.

It looks like Christmas in the brochures: several supermarkets have gourmet, puff pastry snacks and even the Viennetta ice cream cake in advertising. Which is apparently the most normal thing in the world for the chains at Easter. “We have been promoting gourmet at Easter since we came to Belgium,” said Ann Maes, spokeswoman for Albert Heijn. “It just goes well with celebrating together.” The same story at Colruyt and Spar, where the gourmet is also in advertising. But the party vibes at the supermarkets also ensure that there are things to do in the champagne area. At Colruyt and Albert Heijn the discounts are still modest, ranging from ten to thirty percent. For the champagne shops you have to go to Carrefour and Delhaize. There is one at the latter one plus one free on both the Vranken Premier Cru and the Vranken Brut Fondateur. For example, you normally pay 44.98 euros for one of those bottles, but if you buy two it is only 22.49 euros more each.

Carrefour also places two different bottles in the brochure with a one plus one gfree: Louis Daumont Cuvée Classique (2 for 38.99 euros) and Orgueil de France Charles Lafitte (2 for 49.99 euros). For that last bottle I also called our wine specialist Alain Bloeykens. “Very tasty,” he says. “25 euros for one bottle is a great price. For example, at Auchan Luxembourg I can find it for 39.99 euros per bottle.”

Sun cream

In addition to partying around the gourmet set, Albert Heijn is also already thinking about summer. Because there is one one plus one free on various sunscreen brands: Nivea, Ambre Solaire, Biodermal, Vision and also the Labello Sun lip balm. Ideal for those who are going on a ski trip or to the sun during the Easter holidays, or who want to stock up for the summer. Kruidvat also has a promotion with Nivea sun cream, but you only get a 50 percent discount on the second product.

Wash dishes cheaply

For the best promotion of the week you have to go to Carrefour. They have one one plus two free. So three for the price of one. Such actions are rather rare and therefore always worthwhile. Now it is on hand dishwashing liquid from Dreft. This means you pay barely 5.35 euros for three 780 ml bottles Quickwash Original. That amounts to 2.29 euros per liter. Several other supermarkets also have a promotion with Dreft, but none comes close to that price: Aldi (4.72 euros per liter), Albert Heijn (4.27 euros per liter), Kruidvat (3.83 euros per liter). ) and Delhaize (3.52 euros per liter). Colruyt is lower than Carrefour’s price, where you pay 5.34 euros for the three bottles or one cent less.
