A months-long beta version and a waiting list later, the long-awaited Arc Browser is now available for Windows.

The Chromium-based web browser Arc, created by The Browser Company, is now available for Windows. The browser has been available for MacOS for a long time, but the Windows version was delayed. Arc allows Chrome extensions and has a very new interface compared to other browsers. Windows 11 users can now download the browser from the website, but an account is required to use it.

Chromium based

The Arc Browser is based on Chromium, which means it allows Chrome extensions and offers good web compatibility. Previously, Arc Browser was only available in a beta version and via a waiting list, but from now on it is finally available for Windows, The Browser Company says.

The browser has a very different interface compared to other browsers. While most browsers display the tab groups and favorites at the top, the Arc Browser does so on the left side of the screen. Moreover, Arc does not have a URL bar but a ‘command line’ in the middle of the screen, where users can enter their search queries and URLs.

Account required

Anyone who wants to use this browser on Windows can easily download it via the website. An important note to make here is that using the Arc browser requires you to create an account. This step is important for the synchronization option, but in terms of privacy risks it can be questioned. Since Arc is based on Chromium, any vulnerability discovered in Chromium will also occur in Arc.
