Sony will remove Horizon Zero Dawn from PlayStation Plus catalog – Gaming – News

--

Sony will stop offering Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium customers from 21. Sony may be doing this in preparation for the release of the as-yet unannounced PS5 remaster.

For the time being, the Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition in the Plus catalog is playable for PlayStation 4 and 5 users, provided that gamers have an Extra or Premium subscription to Plus. On the game’s PlayStation Store page, on the other hand, the company states that this option will expire on May 21, Eurogamer confirms. After that date, the Complete Edition including the Frozen Wilds expansion will, as far as is known, remain available for purchase via the PlayStation Store.

According to various media, the disappearance of the popular Sony game from the Plus catalog points to the arrival of a remaster specifically for the PlayStation 5. Horizon Zero Dawn was originally released in 2017 by the Dutch Guerilla Games for the PlayStation 4. Later, an update was released that made 4k60 gameplay with checkerboard rendering possible on the PlayStation 5. For the time being, however, there is no native PS5 version of the game. Rumors first circulated in late 2022 that a PS5 remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn was in development, but so far Sony and Guerilla Games have not officially announced anything.
