Whether and when these pause advertisements will come is still unknown. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, indicated during its quarterly earnings review that this type of advertising works well. We mainly wonder where people do not yet think that advertising works well. It is now at the beginning of the video, in between, it is also getting longer and longer, and it is also becoming increasingly difficult for people with an ad blocker to use YouTube without ads.
More YouTube Premium
It does all this with one goal: to ensure that as many people as possible switch to a YouTube Premium subscription. The annoying thing for users is that it is a fairly expensive subscription (12 euros) and the Lite version has not been available for six months (while it was much cheaper). The annoying thing for Google/YouTube, on the other hand, is that YouTube was once much less full of advertising and that it is therefore less easy to persuade people to take out such a subscription. They are “used to” something different and sometimes it is difficult for them to give up that.
Anyway, who knows how those break commercials will turn out: will they be very annoying indeed, or will they not be too bad because you are distracted for a while? Undoubtedly available on YouTube very soon.
