The Friends of Hue switches, the light buttons that you control with Philips Hue, have been given new functions after an update of the Hue app.
Philips Hue has recently improved its own Hue Tap switches and now it is also the turn of third-party equipment. When you open the latest version of the Hue app, you should see the following message. “New! You now have access to timed lighting, scene cycle mode, ‘Natural Light’ scene, improved dimming behavior and more.”
According to HueBlog, the update consists of these improvements:
Activate natural light with the Friends of Hue switch
Activate scenes based on up to 10 time slots
Scene cycle with up to 10 scenes
Turn lights on and off with one button
Improved dimming functionality
So if you have the option to update your app, now might be a good time to do so. If you do not yet see the new functions for the buttons, also install the new update for your Hue Bridge.
