Former Club Brugge captain Ruud Vormer (34) is completely sidetracked at Club. On Wednesday he was absent from the fan day due to illness and while Club Brugge played the derby against Cercle on Friday evening, Vormer attended Willem II-ADO The Hague in Tilburg. Vormer was therefore no longer part of Club’s match selections in the past four matches. Coach Carl Hoefkens is positive about the way Vormer handles the situation.

In his press chat, Hoefkens was positive about Ruud Vormer’s daily attitude, both in training and beyond, but you can’t ignore it: the 34-year-old Dutchman is in a painful last year of contract in which he is no longer really counted on. Against Cercle Brugge he was missing for the fourth time in the match selection and Vormer was not even present in the Jan Breydel stadium for the Bruges derby. He was spotted on Friday evening during Willem II-ADO The Hague.
