KAS Eupen lost 1-0 to KV Kortrijk last weekend. Due to that defeat, the Pandas were relegated to 1B.

KV Kortrijk has its fate in its own hands again after the 1-0 victory against KAS Eupen. It’s over again for the Pandas. Eupen will play in the Challenger Pro League next season.

But after the match, the visiting team was not happy with a certain phase that could have a major impact. A penalty was not given.

Charles-Cook was tapped in the penalty area by Mampassi, who did not touch the ball at all. No penalty was given for it. Frank De Bleeckere explained this in more detail at ‘Under Review’.

“It is a very interesting phase that we have also reviewed in detail. We see that the Kortrijk player wants to go to the ball. He then puts his left foot on the ground. He does not hit the ball, but neither does he hit the opponent.”

“Afterwards there is contact with the attacker. We actually don’t think that contact is enough for a penalty. We respect the referee’s decision not to award a penalty for this,” De Bleeckere said.
