Will Still’s adventure at Stade de Reims is over. This was decided by mutual consultation between the trainer and the club’s board. The story at the champagne club is also over for his younger brother Nicolas, T2 at Reims.

Will Still still had a contract with Reims until the summer of 2025. Last winter, the 31-year-old ex-coach of Lierse and Beerschot was already linked with a lot of other clubs, but Still emphasized several times that he wanted to end his contract with Reims. to respect. After some poor results, the club board has now decided, together with Still, to end the collaboration early.

Last year, Still took over as head coach at Reims in October from Oscar Garcia, the current trainer of OH Leuven. Still immediately achieved success by remaining undefeated in Ligue 1 for 19 games in a row with Reims. The club was just above the relegation places when Still took over and eventually finished eleventh. This season too, Reims performed above expectations for a long time. It was even third at one point. But in 2024, luck turned. Reims could barely win three times this year and suffered another beating on Sunday when they visited Clermont Foot, the last in the standings. As a result, Reims dropped to eleventh place. European football seems far away.

Still himself responded briefly on the club website: “I will be eternally grateful to Stade de Reims, as well as everyone who is directly or indirectly involved with the club. I would especially like to thank all the players with whom I have had the opportunity to work, all the coaches, the technical and medical staff and the stewards, but also and especially the supporters of this wonderful club. Our unbeaten run of 19 games last season and the spectacular home games will stay with me forever. I will always remain a supporter of Red and White.”
