Update below- At Lotto Dstny they have had reason to celebrate several times recently. This way they could retain some of their strongholds for longer.

After all, Arnaud De Lie – who already did that last year – Lennert Van Eetvelt, Maxim Van Gils and Milan Menten signed a new contract with the Lotto team. The foursome will remain with the team until the end of 2026. They have thus managed to capture their greatest assets, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

After all, Lotto Dstny still has fourteen riders who are at the end of their contracts. Their situation will become clear when there is also certainty about sponsors Dstny, Caps and MR Solar. After all, those agreements also expire after this season.

Interested in Vermeersch

In order to create the necessary financial space, it is of course important that these sponsors remain on board, or new financiers can be found. The question is whether that money will still be needed to keep Florian Vermeersch on board.

It is said that many teams are interested, including Visma-Lease a Bike. The Dutch top team obviously has great appeal and they clearly continue to target the Belgian market.

Update 26/04: Team UAE comes out on top

The matter seems to have been settled regarding a transfer for Florian Vermeersch. And it will certainly not be any worse, both sportingly and financially. According to Het Laatste Nieuws, he has chosen to switch to Team UAE, the team of Tadej Pogacar and Tim Wellens, among others.

Many teams were reportedly in the running for Vermeersch, which, as indicated above, also included Visma-Lease a Bike. According to HLN, Wout van Aert even insisted privately on his arrival. The Kempen resident was very impressed by Vermeersch at the European Championships in Drenthe.

Bora-Hansgrohe seemed to be taking control of the transfer battle, but the current Lotto Dstny rider has now opted for Team UAE. A big boost also for Vermeersch, who had a serious crash at the beginning of this year and has only recently returned to the bike. It is still unclear when he will return to the peloton.
