Swimming pool Brasschaat files a complaint against Eddy Snelders after it becomes known that he secretly filmed visitors in the changing rooms (Brasschaat)

Sportoase files a complaint against Eddy Snelders (65) for voyeurism. General director Michaël Schouwaerts confirms this. This week it became known that Snelders secretly filmed visitors in the changing rooms of the Brasschaat swimming pool.

The facts date from 2016, but only became known this week in the aftermath of the voyeurism scandal surrounding former football commentator Eddy Snelders. In that investigation, investigators found two nude videos on Snelders’ seized laptop in December 2023.

The images were secretly taken in the changing rooms of Sportoase in Brasschaat. One video shows nude images of an adult woman, while another shows a 10-year-old child. Snelders stated that he did not know in advance who he would film in the changing rooms and that he made the nude images at random.

General manager Michaël Schouwaerts of Sportoase regrets that he had to learn the facts through the media, but confirms that the swimming pool will file a complaint with the Brasschaat police on Wednesday.

“It is our duty to respond to this correctly. This is not acceptable. In the event of such facts, we follow a fixed procedure and always file a complaint,” says Schouwaerts. “In addition, we will of course also consider whether we need to make any adjustments to prevent such events. We want every visitor to feel safe at all times.”

The investigation into Eddy Snelders for exhibitionism and voyeurism is still ongoing, but is said to be almost complete. At least twenty victims have already been identified.
