‘Sam Baro wants Ghent to evolve towards this structure and that is why there is no room for Vanhaezebrouck’ – Football news

--

Hein Vanhaezebrouck will no longer be the coach of KAA Gent next season. Sam Baro made that decision a few months ago. And the owner did not doubt that decision for a second.

The news comes as anything but a surprise. Sam Baro has been the owner of KAA Gent since this season. Since day one, the entrepreneur has been of the opinion that Hein Vanhaezebrouck has way too much power.

Ivan De Witte and Michel Louwagie repeatedly ignored their coach’s open criticism, but that is not the case with Baro. Vanhaezebrouck’s words stuck every time.

“The coach has two keys in our club,” Baro responded a few months ago when Vanhaezebrouck questioned the transfer policy in the media. “He is coach and technical director.”

“He does not officially wear the title, but he does wear the cap. That is exceptional. In no other Belgian club does the coach have more of a say.”

What does the future structure of KAA Gent look like?

Baro already announced a change at that time. The Buffalos of the future will have a different structure. Almost all sporting power in one person? That won’t happen again.”

The last news know that Baro is not just looking for a new coach. In the meantime, the search for a technical director is also underway. The official title: Manager Sports.

The new coach will be accountable to the technical director. So that won’t be Vanhaezebrouck. Although we didn’t see it happening that he would be held accountable in Ghent…
