You had already seen the four assists. But even more than the feat by Dante Vanzeir (25), a beautiful ‘action’ by our compatriot filmed before the match is spreading like wildfire on social media. In dog weather, Vanzeir decided to put his coat over the shoulders of a young mascot. His New York Red Bulls teammates followed suit.

For New York Red Bulls-Inter Miami, which missed Messi, the rain poured down.
The home team had entered the field with its young mascots. Of course, those guys got soaking wet too. Dante Vanzeir had that in mind. Our compatriot decided to take off his jacket and put it over the shoulders of the young supporter in front of him. His teammates soon followed his example – much to the delight of the football players. These are images, shared by the club and the MLS, that are currently taking over the internet.
Vanzeir receives many compliments on social media. “What a leader. He creates a domino effect.” Or: “He’s the real deal champ. Vanzeir starts with the gesture, and everyone else immediately feels the pressure to do it too.”
Vanzeir also shone in the ninety minutes that followed. NY Red Bulls scored four times. Vanzeir provided all the assists.
