A day after the last competition at the World Figure Skating Championships, Loena Hendrickx was among the selected riders for the show gala on Sunday in Montreal, Canada.

Hendrickx, who finished the tournament fourth, did not play a leading role on Sunday, unlike two months ago when she won the European title in Kaunas. De Arendonks was the third to take to the ice after Canadian special guest Elvis Stojko. The now 52-year-old Stojko became world champion in 1994, 1995 and 1996. After Hendrickx came the British ice dancing couple Lilian Fear/Lewis Gibson.

In a pink and white suit and with loose hair, Hendrickx presented a short show entitled ‘Heaven or hell’. The fact that she fell for a double Axel is nothing more than a cosmetic flaw at such a gala.

The leading roles of the show, which was accompanied by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, were for the world champions: Japan’s Kaori Sakamoto, American Ilia Malinin and Canadian couple Deanna Stellato-Dudek/Maxine Deschamps.
