A lot of negative things have already been said about the Red Devils’ friendly match against Ireland. It wasn’t good either. But analyst Frank Raes found one bright spot that Domenico Tedesco can work on.

Raes also saw the many experiments and found none to be successful. “Vranckx, Vermeeren, De Winter, Deman: no, they were not able to convince me enough. Vranckx and Vermeeren clearly lack rhythm.”

“Deman and De Winter still see some green behind their ears. They even seemed to suffer from stage fright,” says Frank Raes in his analysis for The newspapaer.

But one attempt did make him happy: the return of Thomas Meunier, the best Belgian on the field. “He went for it, as we know him from his best days. Meunier also has personality and tons of experience.”

“He also got our only chance of the entire match. As a right back, no less. As far as I’m concerned, Meunier can go to the European Championship. And why not as a starting player? I didn’t think Castagne was better than Meunier before the break.”

A motivated Meunier is always an added value. The 32-year-old right back has done everything he can to get back into the eyes of the national coach and is now being rewarded for this. You don’t take any risks with him by selecting him.
