As she had done for 17 years, Nutwalai Phupongta (49) came to clean the villa of French millionaire Catherine Delacote (59) on a Thai island on Monday. To her horror, the housekeeper nicknamed Aunt Tim discovered that her mistress had tragically passed away. Striking: according to Aunt Tim, she received almost all of Delacote’s possessions. In total they are worth around 2.5 million euros.

There didn’t seem to be a problem in the air. On Sunday, April 28, Aunt Tim went to the Frenchwoman’s house as usual. In the afternoon she asked Delacote if she could go to the temple. It was her birthday that day. “Happy birthday,” the millionaire wished her and Aunt Tim left.

The next day the skin keeper received a call from the colleague who maintains the swimming pool. Her boss lay dead by the pool, with a gunshot wound to the temple. The Thai daily ‘Khaosod’ writes this based on a testimony from Aunt Tim.

According to local police, gunshot residue could be seen on Delacote’s left wrist. This is what the Thai newspaper ‘Bangkok Post’ writes. A gun, bullet casing, a glass of vodka, sunglasses and a pack of cigarettes were found next to her body.

According to Aunt Tim, the millionaire had told her that she has cancer and she had already paid the equivalent of 12,000 euros for funeral costs. She had also sent messages to several people to report that her housekeeper would inherit various things. She had never talked about suicide, according to Aunt Tim.

She discovered that she had been given all of Delacote’s property and capital after viewing her messages on chat app LINE. In it, her former boss told her to open the safe.

The letter found there started with the words “Au revoir”. It was further stated that Aunt Tim received the villa, along with several pieces of land, jewelry and all the money in her bank account. She tells ‘Khaosad’ that she doesn’t really know what to do with the villa, but that she certainly doesn’t want to sell it.

She also got the luxury cars, even though she can’t drive. Delacote’s ex-husband received two other villas. The Frenchwoman asked her Thai housekeeper to also take care of her three beloved cats.

According to ‘Khasod’, the will was written on the last day that Aunt Tim came to clean at Delacote. Surveillance footage shows her typing on her computer and then printing something. The Frenchwoman then used a mop to change the position of the surveillance camera at the swimming pool so that the gunshot could not be captured.

Aunt Tim, who has four children, tearfully told the story to Channel 8 news channel. “I was in shock when I read the will. I didn’t think she would do this. I wanted her to stay with me. I am very sad and will miss her immensely. She was like a mother to me who always took care of me.”
