Feyenoord will almost certainly have to look for another trainer. After all, Arne Slot is mentioned as the main candidate to succeed Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool.

From Feyenoord to Liverpool and succeeding a legend like Jürgen Klopp. It seems like a fairytale, but it could become reality for Arne Slot. The Dutchman is in pole position to become the new coach of the English top club.

“Well, I can hardly blame him. He has given us three wonderful years,” Johan Boskamp tells Het Belang van Limburg.

“When one of the biggest clubs in the world comes knocking, you shouldn’t miss the opportunity. The clubs are now negotiating and I expect they will reach an agreement. My supporter’s heart thinks it’s worthless, but on the other hand I wish Arne every bit of it. I’m especially curious who they will bring in in his place.”

Only one foreign name for Feyenoord

A few names from the Belgian competition were already mentioned before that. Hein Vanhaezebrouck will normally be out of work this summer, but Mark van Bommel also seems to be a candidate to work in the Netherlands.

However, Johan Boskamp puts forward another name. “Certainly not Hein. They want a Dutchman. Van Bommel could be possible, but I think he is still under contract with Antwerp. The only foreign name circulating is Brian Priske, who is on his way to his second title in a row in the Czech Republic with Sparta Prague.”
