A RWDM player has been involved in a serious traffic accident. He was returning home after training, but became unwell behind the wheel.

About a week ago a car collided head-on with a truck. The accident happened on the Leuvensesteenweg in Boortmeerbeek.

Now RWDM announced that it concerns player Frederic Soelle Soelle. “Last Thursday, Frederic Soelle Soelle was involved in a car accident while returning home after the training session in Tubize.”

“Our player lost control of his vehicle after becoming unwell at the wheel,” the club said on its website. “Immediately received by the emergency services, the player suffered a hip fracture and multiple facial fractures.”

“After spending the weekend in hospital, Frederic has returned home but will continue to undergo tests in the coming days.”

The player will now have to recuperate for months. Soelle Soelle came over from KV Mechelen last winter. He played in six games for RWDM this season.
