LOOK. Ukrainian drone destroys ultra-rare Russian Ladoga

The battlefield footage shows a Russian Ladoga armored vehicle being destroyed by a Ukrainian drone. The fact that an ancient and very scarce Ladoga appears on the battlefield indicates how difficult it is for Russia to maintain its tank fleet. The Russian army has lost 6,904 tanks since the invasion began, according to an estimate by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

The Ladoga was designed in the 1970s to transport high-ranking Kremlin staff in the event of a nuclear attack. The military vehicle was tested in the field shortly after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in the spring of 1986, when the Ladoga and its crew were sent to the accident site.

The vehicle reportedly performed well in the Chernobyl danger zone. But in the end no more than four or five, including the prototype, were built by manufacturer LKZ and sent around the country for further testing.

“Of all the military vehicles taken out of storage and deployed by Russia in this war, this is one that was really at the bottom of my list to see released, let alone destroyed,” read a post on AFV Recognition, an authoritative social media account that monitors Russian armor.
