“Slow down at magical locations, hidden in nature”, that was the slogan of Slow Cabins. The company behind the concept had many cabins in, among others, the Hageland, Haspengouw and the Flemish Ardennes. You could book the cabins, which were in a secret location in the middle of nature, for an overnight stay in a unique location. They were furnished and equipped in such a way that they had no impact on the environment.
But now the company is bankrupt. They announce this themselves on their website. Anyone who wants to book an overnight stay in nature will see a message there. “We regret to inform you that we will no longer accept bookings in Flanders until further notice. Behind the scenes we are currently looking for solutions to guarantee the future of the Slow Cabins concept in Flanders. As soon as there is more clarity, we will communicate about this via the website.”
In the Mediahuis newspapers, the managers indicate that the persistent legal uncertainty made their short-term survival in Flanders impossible. A curator has now been appointed, but the CEO believes in a restart. The company currently has about twenty Slow Cabins in Flanders. You could book them from 195 euros per night.
