This year, Radio Caroline, the iconic maritime broadcaster that made history by starting its broadcasts from ships on the North Sea in 1964, is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a special broadcast. The celebration will take place over the Easter weekend, from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 March, live from the radio ship Ross Revenge. Listeners can enjoy a musical journey through time with hits from the ’60s to the early ’90s

The special anniversary broadcast can be received in England, the Netherlands, Belgium and beyond on 648 AM, and in the North and North West on 1368 AM thanks to Manx Radio. Fans worldwide can tune in via the online Caroline North Player, smart speakers and the Radio Caroline app. During the broadcast, listeners are invited to share their memories via [email protected], the direct line to the ‘North’ announcers.

Radio Caroline broke the BBC monopoly in the 1960s and became a voice of freedom for millions of listeners, playing music that would otherwise hardly be heard. Despite challenges and being temporarily off air, Radio Caroline has continued to broadcast and is now based on English soil, with the MV Ross Revenge serving as the proud symbol of its rich past. With the recent improvements to the transmitter, Radio Caroline can now reach an even wider audience, both by land and by sea.
