Bart Van Couwenberghe (N-VA) has indicated with a mayor’s decision that an alcohol ban will apply in the Frijthout landscape park from Friday 9 September 6 pm to Saturday 10 September 6 pm. The reason for this decision is a party of Scouts Boechout a little further.

The Boechoutse youth association is organizing an afterwork event with Apéro 31 on Friday evening at the Molenveld, within walking distance of park Frijthout in Hove. Hove wants to prevent nuisance in the landscape park based on experiences from previous events. “It’s mainly about the phenomenon of ‘drinking in’ where young people gather in a public place to drink alcohol before going to a party. At the last parties and events, we subsequently found that in Frijthout there was a lot of nuisance from illegal dumping, especially beverage packaging, and vandalism, such as the destruction of traffic signs and bicycle sheds”, the municipality communicates.

The alcohol ban applies to the use of alcoholic beverages and the possession of opened bottles, cans and the like that contain alcoholic beverages. In case of violations, the police confiscate the alcohol.
