Irate passenger pulls driver of moving bus out of his seat to beat him up

What possesses someone to hit a bus driver while driving and pull him out of his seat? In the case of Tihron Harrison (23) from Oklahoma City, it was because he wanted to get off the bus somewhere where the driver was not allowed to stop.

Transport company Embark shares the striking images of the incident on April 20, which miraculously ended without serious injuries. Harrison simply knocked the protective plexiglass aside and gave the driver several blows. He pulled the man to the ground, causing the bus to continue driving without a driver.

Fortunately for the driver, he kept his seat belt on all the time, which prevented him from flying through the window when the bus crashed into a timber company.

Bumps and bruises

“Obviously he had some bumps and bruises,” said Jason Ferbrache, director of the city’s Department of Public Transportation and Parking. “We took him to the hospital immediately afterwards. He is not working at the moment but he is doing well.”

According to Ferbrache, the driver cannot be blamed. “When you encounter a situation like that, no matter how much training you have, it’s very difficult to prepare for someone to actually attack you while you’re driving a moving vehicle. If you look at it that way, I think the driver handled it as well as he could.”

Perpetrator Tihron Harrison remained at the scene for a while but started walking when the police arrived. He tried to crawl over a fence, but was caught. He also made the news in February 2023 when he filmed an underage girl in a store toilet. When the mother spoke to him about this, he became so angry that he threw a heavy pot at her.
