For the first time since 2011, the Transporter of the Year is a Walloon company. For this 31st edition, Sud-Fresh (Namur) convinced the jury and took over from Transport Verbeken (Dendermonde).
Sud-Fresh has only been a well-known brand for a few years, but the company is nevertheless becoming a Belgian leader in the distribution of temperature-controlled food products. With its head office in Namur and a warehouse in Aubange, it works on both a dedicated and multi-client basis and is still in a growth phase.
The jury was impressed by Sud-Fresh’s excellent management, its flexibility to respond to customer needs and its strong vision for the future. For example, Sud-Fresh plans the construction of a second logistics site next to its headquarters in the hills above Namur, where it will install two wind turbines to generate sufficient electricity for future electric trucks.
Second laureate
Macotruck, specialist in the transport of vehicles and tank containers, is at a turning point in its history: founder Marc Costenoble is preparing his succession with the support of a new minority shareholder, in addition to his long-standing partner Herfurth Group. This highly structured company is turning a new leaf!
Third laureate
Transport De Rudder is a family business specialized in distribution that has undergone a professionalization process over the past two years. It has made major investments in its logistics infrastructure, but also in new digital tools that have increased the efficiency of its dispatching.
The Transporter of the Year 2024 was supported by Mercedes-Benz, Texaco and A&D Trucks & Trailers.
