The new timetable that the Dutch Railways has in mind for the coming year contains a large number of improvements for Lelystad. That was also the agreement, because the timetable was simplified on a number of points this year.
More trains
In the newly proposed timetable, a sprinter runs every day to Almere, Weesp and beyond. Now this is only the case during rush hour from Monday to Friday. Furthermore, in 2025, an intercity service will run every fifteen minutes from Lelystad to Almere and Schiphol. Now this is only during rush hour from Monday to Thursday.
There will also be additional journeys to Zwolle in the evenings. From now on you will have to change trains for The Hague and Leiden, the direct train will disappear.
On the other hand, Almere and Lelystad will be connected to the High Speed Line (HSL). This means a shorter travel time to Rotterdam and a direct connection from Lelystad to Antwerp and Brussels.
Concept
The new timetable has not yet been determined. It is a concept to which municipalities and provinces can respond. The final timetable for next year will be determined later this year.
