A reader reported to our editors that she was unable to open the entrance door to the cycloparking at the Beurs on Saturday with her badge. An employee was able to let her in during the day with his key. But when she wanted to pick up her bicycle in the evening, she was unable to do so again.

That problem appears to still be going on. A ‘bug’ in the system with the access badges is the cause. “Not everyone who has a badge is affected, some get in, others don’t,” says Pierre Vassart, spokesperson for Parking.brussels. It is not yet clear exactly how many people are experiencing difficulties.

“We suspect that the problem is related to the rollout of a new system for people who want to use the bicycle parking without a subscription. We are trying to find a solution as quickly as possible.”

But you can only call customer service during weekdays during office hours. If you experience problems during the weekend, it is best to use the intercom next to the entrance door. “It is available 24/7,” Vassart added. “If you encounter any difficulties, an on-call staff member will help you.”
