Burglars strike three times: “Close windows properly, even on the first floor” (Heist-op-den-Berg)

Burglars struck in three places in Heist-op-den-Berg on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. The perpetrators always entered through a separate window on the first floor.

The burglaries took place on Westerlosesteenweg, Tapelaarstraat and Schaffelberg. Three streets that are close to each other. “And it is striking that the perpetrators’ modus operandi was always the same: each time they gained access to the homes through a separate window on the first floor. It is therefore very important to close everything properly before you leave. Both on the ground floor and on the first floor,” responds Jana De Roover of the Heist police zone.

The police have started a thorough investigation into the burglaries, but no suspects have yet been arrested.

The police also appeal to always report suspicious situations immediately via the number 101. “Try to provide as much detail as possible when making such a report. This concerns a description of the clothing of the suspect or suspects and a personal description. But also the make, color and possibly even the license plate of a suspect car. That information can often be crucial to catching the perpetrators.” (tdk)
