The agenda included a look back at the legislative period 2019-2024 and a look ahead at the strategic policy for the coming period 2024-2029. Two interactive sessions were organized on gender policy in parliaments and on democracy and the rule of law in the EU. Finally, delegations discussed open strategic autonomy in the EU. On the latter topic, Van Apeldoorn argued that strategic industrial autonomy of the EU can also be a means to improve the social model in the EU, and thus the position of employees.

At the end of the conference, contributions and conclusions on the themes discussed during the meeting were adopted by consensus. At the initiative of the delegations of the Netherlands and Denmark, a chapter has been included on access to information from national parliaments, following the threatened closure of access to the Delegates Portal
of the Council.

All meeting documents of this conference can be found on the IPEX website.
