Mortsel’s right-hand man of drug boss Flash handed over to our country (Antwerp)

More than a year after he was arrested in Spain, Yersen V. was extradited to our country this week. The thirty-something from Mortsel is considered one of the accomplices of drug boss Flash, he also appears as the director of torture in the drug environment.

38-year-old Yersen V. was arrested more than a year ago at his hiding place in Nerja, a seaside resort near Malaga in southern Spain. Just in time, according to V., because he was about to change his hiding place.

He had then emerged as one of the important suspects in an extensive file surrounding the smuggling of more than four tons of cocaine through homes in Mechelen. In the meantime, the files of two kidnappings in Duffel and Putte were also added to that investigation, as well as that of an arsenal of weapons found in the home of a 53-year-old woman in Putte. The investigators see Yannick ‘Flash’ W. as the leader of the organization, who has already received long sentences in other cases and who is said to have managed matters from his cell.

V., born in Mortsel, is seen as one of Flash’s closest accomplices. After his arrest in Spain, he resisted his extradition. V. therefore spent more than a year in jail in Alhaurin del Torre prison near Malaga. Several sources confirm that he finally arrived in Belgium this week.

Kidnapping

In addition to the Mechelen drug file, he is also seen as one of the organizers of a kidnapping in the drug environment in which the victim was found severely tortured in Poppel. In that case, V. will have to appear in court in Turnhout on May 8, where a whole day will be set aside for the trial against V., his co-organizer Jonas W. and twelve accomplices.
