LOOK. Fire brigade tows away the vehicles involved after fatal accident

The local services received a report of a serious accident on Antwerpsesteenweg, near house number 105, in Malle around 2:30 p.m. “The victim’s vehicle drove towards Oostmalle and collided head-on with a car from the opposite direction,” explains Nick Krols, spokesperson for the Voorkempen police zone. “The accident caused a pile-up involving two other cars.”

The 75-year-old woman was trapped in her vehicle. Emergency services, including the MUG, arrived on the scene and tried to resuscitate her, but help could no longer help. She died on the spot. There were three people in the other vehicles involved. Two of them were slightly injured.

It is not clear how the accident could have happened. According to previous reports, the 75-year-old woman would have deviated from the correct lane, but information from some witnesses now contradicts this. The police have started an investigation to determine the exact cause.
