According to the report, a bomb would explode at the site at midnight. As a precaution, the evacuation started at 11:30 PM and the 1,500 employees were not allowed to enter the site for an hour.

The bomb threat came in during Tuesday evening. The message stated that a bomb would explode on the Volvo Car Gent site at midnight. Because the company is located in the port zone, the Maritime Police is leading the investigation. As a precaution, the 1,500 employees were evacuated at 11:30 p.m. A sweep of the site was then carried out, using explosives dogs.
