We shouldn’t expect glorious spring weather just yet: the start of the Easter holidays will be mild but changeable

There is little chance that the Easter eggs will melt in the sun on Sunday. We should not expect beautiful weather for the Easter weekend or the first half of the Easter holidays. It will be changeable to slightly changeable, the RMI says. But mild, with temperatures up to 17 degrees.

“There is no glorious spring weather yet,” says weatherman David Dehenauw. Although he is still cautious, because the various weather models are still uncertain. Locally, the sun will occasionally break through next weekend, but according to the current forecast, the Easter weekend will be mainly cloudy with a chance of occasional showers. “It remains mild with temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees,” says Dehenauw.

Ideal weather for the riders of the Tour of Flanders, that is. The chance of showers from the west increases in the afternoon.

“The wind will blow light to moderate from the south to the southeast, but riders and spectators should certainly not expect extremes. The chance that it will remain dry all day is small. But we should not fear March outdoors or April whims with hail, for example. It is too soft for that,” says Nicolas Roose of NoodweerBenelux.

The first week of the Easter holidays doesn’t look great either. “It will be a bit cooler again with temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees, which is still good for this time of year.” But weatherman David Dehenauw does not see any radiant spring weather for the first half of the Easter holidays.

And the RMI’s forecasts for the next 14 days don’t look that good either. It will remain changeable at first with occasional rain or showers. The maximum temperatures in the center usually fluctuate between 10 and 12 degrees.

Those who go on holiday to southern Italy, Turkey or the Balkan countries have more luck. According to Nicolas Roose, it gets hot there in summer with temperatures that can rise to 25 or even 30 degrees. More changeable weather is forecast in Spain and Portugal, although it will not be too bad in the south.
