Kim Kardashian took to the steps this year in a semi-sheer dress with floral accents from Maison Margiela and a white-blonde wig. But the most striking detail of her outfit was undoubtedly her silver corset, which gave her an incredibly narrow wasp waist. Kim was therefore unable to climb the stairs herself this year, so she needed help from her bystanders.

Just like Kim Kardashian, chose Amanda Seyfried for a completely silver outfit. Amanda’s hairstyle also attracted attention. She traded her long blonde locks for a platinum blue shade on the white carpet.

Is this the largest and longest dress of the evening? Cardi B appeared in a huge black dress from Windowsen and gave her bystanders “Ursula vibes from ‘The Little Mermaid’.” No fewer than eight helpers were needed to maneuver the dress on the red carpet.

After five years it was Zendaya invited back to the event, and was appointed as co-host. In order not to let this comeback pass by, the actress had arranged not one, but two looks. Her first fairytale dress was a creation by Maison Margiela, based on a Dior dress from 1999.

Surprised towards the end Zendaya with a new outfit – a vintage Givenchy dress that had never been worn before – and walked the stairs one more time in an all-black dress. Yet it was not the dress that immediately attracted attention, but her main accessory. She wore a bouquet of flowers as a hat.

No fewer than 250,000 Swarovski crystals and 450 man-hours were needed to create the Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress from Camila Cabello to make. But all the attention was on her clutch, which was literally made out of ice. “My hands are so cold that I can no longer feel them,” she wrote. But hey, you’ll have some frostbite left over for the Met Gala, right?

Also Dua Lipa chose a sexy outfit for the Met Gala. Dressed in a custom Marc Jacobs look with corset and sheer details, she dazzled on the iconic steps for the third time. Vogue renamed the style ‘boudoir dressing’.

It is striking that black is a popular color at this edition of the Met Gala. Because just like Dua Lipa, Zendaya and Cardi B also appeared Bad Bunny in a black outfit, again from Maison Margiela.

Barry Keoghan from ‘Saltburn’ went for a velvet Burberry ensemble.

Even more Burberry in a strikingly sober one Naomi Campbell. But if you look like this at 53, you don’t need any bells and whistles.

Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh walked the white carpet in aluminum foil, which upon closer inspection turned out to be a Balenciaga dress.

Editor-in-chief of Vogue Anna Wintour never wears one of the flashiest outfits at her own event. She leaves that to the more adventurous Hollywood stars, but always manages to stand out. For example, she exceptionally appeared without her characteristic sunglasses.

We don’t see much ‘garden’ in the Balenciaga dress Nicole Kidmanbut the dress is timeless.

Kendall Jenner appeared in a vintage Givenchy dress from 1999. Her garment was decorated with more than 100,000 beads and it actually took around 500 hours to embroider the entire garment by hand.

Lizzo clearly understood this year’s theme. The singer wore a Weisanto corset dress with cascading petals and a matching head accessory for her interpretation of “Garden of Time.”

Beautiful. That’s all we have to say about Gaurav Gupta’s creation as an actress Mindy Kaling.

Nicki Minaj brought a little more color to the red carpet this year. Among the many black outfits, she stood out with her yellow floral dress from Marni.

Also Ed Sheeran made his debut at the event. He walked with a fashion designer Stella McCartney, which he also wore a suit of, on the red carpet. Also model Cara Delevingne joined the group.

One of the most striking looks on Monday evening was that of Lana Del Rey. She appeared in a silk corset dress from Altazurra with branches that seemed to grow from her skirt behind her head. The singer gave a nod to the ‘crown of thorns’ with the look.

Jennifer Lopez opted for a relatively boring dress – by Met Gala standards anyway – but highlighted her best assets. Schiaparelli’s almost revealing dress was almost transparent at the back.

Also top model Emily Ratajkowski went for a daring look on the steps of the Met Gala. She chose Versace.

We almost didn’t recognize her, but the usually blonde one Sydney Sweeney (known from ‘Euphoria’) opted for a short black hairstyle and a fairytale dress from Miu Miu.

Rita Ora this edition also showed a little more of itself. In keeping with the theme, she opted for a revealing Tom Ford dress. She wore a bodysuit over which the beads hung in different shades of black, pink, orange… . Rita previously said in ‘Vogue’ that some beads come from the first and second century BC. “They are older than anyone on the planet.”

Kris Jenner made her seventh appearance on the white carpet on Monday. She appeared in a monochrome white satin dress and an overcoat designed by Oscar de la Renta. Matching and by her side: partner Corey Gamble.

Also not to be missed on the evening: Kylie Jenner. Just like mom Kris, she opted for a light dress. Oscar de la Renta’s garment was reportedly inspired by a garden statue, thus completely matching the theme of the evening.

Doja Cat was inspired by a look with which she had just jumped into the pool. Her eye makeup was smudged and the white Vetements T-shirt dress looked wet and see-through.

Pamela Anderson may have been famous for decades, but it wasn’t until Monday evening that she graced the steps of the Met Gala for the first time, wearing a long Oscar de la Renta dress.

Also Kylie Minogue made her comeback. After ten years she appeared in a dress with sequins that give a denim effect. She previously worked with the Diesel brand.

You can never go wrong with some ‘old Hollywood glamour’, the model thought Gigi Hadid. The floral dress is by Thom Browne.

No garden without flies or mosquitoes, but there was an actress Brie Larson well protected in her Prada dress.

We know singer Tyla not that good, but her sandy outfit from Balmain – including hourglass – is forever etched in our memories. The ensemble was so tight that she had to be lifted up the stairs.

Singer and actress Dove Cameron took home the prize for ‘longest sleeves’. They were made by Diesel.

“Just give me all the petals,” was the actress’s tactic Cynthia Erivo. She opted for a Thom Browne tuxedo-dress combo – note the butterfly on the back of her head – and posed with ‘Wicked’ co-star Ariana Grande. The latter went for a sober Vera Wang creation.

And we conclude with a singer Erykah Badu. The designer of her outfit is Comme des Garçons, where they don’t believe there is such a thing as ‘too much’.
