Flair regularly takes a look inside the wardrobe of a Belgian style icon. This week: Celine Van Ouytsel (27), former Miss Belgium, TV face and radio presenter with a love for traveling and an aesthetic that we want to copy.
With her blond locks and a law degree in her pocket, Celine Van Ouytsel (27) is the Belgian Elle Woods. However, unlike Reese Witherspoon in ‘Legally Blonde’, she prefers to wear chic neutrals then Barbie pink. Celine took home the coveted Miss Belgium crown in 2020 and emerged as a welcome guest in ‘De Tafel van Gert’ and ‘Café De Mol’. She can be heard every Thursday as a sidekick in the morning show on Play Nostalgie and has appeared in, among others, ‘De Verraders’ and ‘Een Echte Job’. Later this year she will sail across your screen in ‘Across the Ocean’.
That program immediately gave her a dream trip. Martinique has since topped the list of her favorite destinations, followed by Puerto Rico, where she competed in Miss World, and Italy. Celine describes herself as a sun child, but also loves the mountains and takes a suitcase full of stylish outfits with her wherever she goes. She used to dress very colorfully, but now she sticks to minimalist looks in a calm color palette.

Old vs new
Celine: ‘The oldest piece in my wardrobe is a vintage trench coat from Burberry. I bought it online for a very attractive price. You know it is really vintage because the old logo is still in it, namely “Burberrys”. The newest addition to my wardrobe are a pair of green Gazelle sneakers from Adidas. I like neutral tones with a few here and there pop of color. By the way, the sneakers were sold out everywhere, but I still managed to score a pair!’
A touch of designer
‘Admit it: a Louis Vuitton bag takes every look to a higher level, doesn’t it? I bought this new, but I also often check vintage resellers. On second-hand platforms you will find beautiful pre-loved bags from all major fashion houses. To sum it up I would say: when it comes to accessories I go for designer, when it comes to outfits I’m a stingy pin (laughs).‘
What’s in my travel bag?
‘What is always in my hand luggage? My passport, wallet, beauty products and a hair clip for when my hair is bothering me. I prefer to leave my work at home and be left alone on holiday, but just to be on the safe side I still take my agenda and tablet with me. A bikini and sunglasses should of course not be missing. Do you notice that I am a sun child? Finally, I always travel with a few medications in a small bag as a mini travel pharmacy. Handy if all that flying bothers you.’
Indispensable accessory
‘Mine travel essential? A headset. Ideal if your fellow passengers are a bit too noisy (laughs). I really can’t live without it!’
Souvenirs
‘Everywhere I go, I buy a magnet for my refrigerator. I already have quite a collection, from Amsterdam to Ibiza. To my great regret, the magnet I bought in Martinique after “Over the Ocean” is broken. I still don’t know who the perpetrator is.’
Destination dressing
‘To be honest, I don’t match my outfits with my travel destination, but I do match my Instagram feed. It used to be super colorful. Looking back on it now, it gives me a headache (laughs). Today I prefer a neutral color palette of brown, beige, gray, ecru and black. So you will mainly find those shades in my suitcase. This brown dress from Zara is one of my favorites for holidays: it is minimalist, looks chic and does not wrinkle.’
