--

CelebritiesThe legendary group of supermodels – consisting of Naomi Campbell (53), Cindy Crawford (58), Linda Evangelista (58) and Christy Turlington (55) – gathered in West Hollywood on Sunday, April 21, to air their documentary ‘The Super Models’ on Apple to put TV+ in the spotlight. “This series is a celebration of our friendship, dreams and perseverance.”

The top models provided explanations about the four-part series ‘The Super Models’, alongside co-directors Roger Ross Williams and Larissa Bills. The foursome still looked very elegant, with matching outfits. Evangelista and Crawford matched in a silky jumpsuit and pumps. Turlington went for a casual outfit with a navy blue wide-leg suit, black sheer top with black bra and black pointy shoes. Campbell looked chic in a black and white midi dress with a white collar and an accordion skirt with sheer sleeves and black satin pumps.

Behind the scenes of the modeling world

“The Super Models” series airs on Apple TV+ and follows the lives of Campbell, Crawford, Evangelista and Turlington behind the scenes of the modeling world they dominated in the ’90s. Campbell, Crawford, Evangelista and Turlington are producers themselves. “To finally have the opportunity to tell our story, in collaboration with the brilliant team at Imagine, and under the leadership of Barbara Kopple. It’s as exciting for us as we hope for the viewers,” Evangelista wrote on an Instagram post announcing the project in 2020. “I’d like people to see this as a celebration of not only our individual stories, but also of the power of friendship, dreams and perseverance.”

The docuseries features influential people from the fashion industry, such as Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Paul Cavaco, Donatella Versace and the late Vivienne Westwood.

Lasting impact

The international models were nicknamed ‘The Supers’ in the ’90s thanks to their long-running careers and lasting impact on the fashion industry. In 2019, ‘The Supers’ reunited for the first time since the ’90s, albeit without Crawford, for supermodel Doutzen Kroes’ new charity campaign with the Elephant Crisis Fund.
