Club Brugge will not win the Conference League this season, but it can still win the national title in the coming weeks. That would be an impressive achievement considering the losing position they seemed to be in at the start of the play-offs. Then there are the necessary question marks.

It is still not clear who will be coach next season, while the playing group will also undergo the necessary transformations. For example, we will have to wait and see who will be the new number nine. Igor Thiago will move to Brentford in any case, while Ferran Jutgla has also been linked to a transfer in recent months.

Valencia will not continue with Yaremchuk

There is also the matter of Roman Yaremchuk. The Ukrainian is still the most expensive purchase in club history, but after a failed debut season, Club signed him to Valencia in the summer. His statistics with four goals in 26 games don’t look great either.

Nevertheless, Yaremchuk has indicated in recent months that he would like to stay in Spain, because the striker and his family are happy there. But he is now receiving bad news on that front. According to Relevo Yaremchuk was told on Wednesday in a conversation with the Valencia board that an extended stay was not an option.

Club’s record purchase is too expensive for Valencia

Valencia simply cannot afford to permanently acquire Yaremchuk from Club. It will want to recover as much as possible of the 17 million euros it paid to Benfica at the time, while the 28-year-old will also receive a princely salary of 2 million euros. Paying a transfer fee and meeting Yaremchuk’s wage demands is beyond Valencia’s options, even if the player were willing to give up.

In principle, Yaremchuk will return to Club in June, where he still has a contract until 2026. However, the chance seems small that he will get another chance. It is therefore hoped that another club will come forward, but in the event of a sale, Club may still have to accept a heavy loss.
