CELEBRITIES“It was horrific.” British actress Hannah Waddingham (49) gave her utmost for her role in ‘Game of Thrones’. She even suffered from chronic claustrophobia due to a violent scene she had to play in the series. She reveals this on ‘The Late Show with Stephan Colbert’.

“’Game of Thrones’ gave me something I didn’t expect, and that is chronic claustrophobia,” she tells Stephan Colbert. A consequence of a terrible scene in the fantasy series. Her character in the series, the so-called Shame Nun, She suffered a lot of misery when lead actress Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) takes revenge on her. Earlier in the series, the Shame Nun forced Cersei to walk stark naked through the streets of King’s Landing and that could count on real repercussions.

Waddington undergoes the waterboarding torture technique for ten hours in ‘Game of Thrones’. During the scene in question, she is tied to a table with leather straps. “I couldn’t move my head. “I was told by production that it would be too obvious if the straps were too loose,” she recalls. The British actress then had a wet cloth wiped over her face. Water was poured over it each time, while a fellow player held a hand over her mouth. “It was virtually impossible to breathe because a drowning was simulated. Afterwards I had marks everywhere as if I had been attacked.” She hated the scene. “I talked to executive producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss about it. I was like: good for you, but this was horrible.”

Later that day, the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress ran into a colleague. He asked what happened to her because she looked so battered. The actor himself had just returned from grueling recordings. He had to “crawl through disgusting and muddy terrain for four days.” “That’s why the cinematography of ‘Game of Thrones’ is amazing,” Waddington concludes. “The series is really on a different level, and that includes real stunts.”
