Yes, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ is coming back. And no, that won’t be with Johnny Depp. But the other famous faces from the film franchise may also stay at home.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer thus puts an end to the dream of many fans to reprise Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. Depp’s return has been rumored for months. But now it appears that none of the well-known minds will cooperate anymore. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley are also allowed to stay home for the next film.

The final part of the franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was released in 2017. A lot has happened since the film’s release. Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard accused each other of assault and defamation, quickly raising doubts about whether Depp would return in a sixth Pirates film. The answer is therefore no, but it cannot be said with certainty that the lawsuit is the reason for this. Although the issue has certainly not done his chances of a comeback any good.

Bruckheimer says the new Pirates of the Caribbeanmovie will be released before the third Great gunfilm, his other major project. “Because we at Great gun have to wait until Tom Cruise has enough time. For Pirates we have the cast together much faster.”
