The Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has started domestic flights in Morocco. With very attractive prices, starting from 150 dirhams for a one-way ticket, Ryanair becomes the third airline to operate in the kingdom, next to Royal Air Maroc and Air Arabia Maroc.

Ryanair’s first domestic flights flew in Morocco on Sunday. The first flight, number FR6741, took off from Marrakech at 5:30 am and landed in Oujda at 6:30 am. The second flight, number FR6768, took off from Marrakech at 9:30 am and landed in Tetouan at 10:30 am.

Ryanair now flies between Oujda, Tetouan and Marrakech. From the summer, the company plans to open 11 domestic routes in Morocco, connecting nine Moroccan destinations: Agadir, Errachidia, Essaouira, Fez, Marrakech, Ouarzazate, Oujda, Tangier and Tetouan.

With the new routes, Ryanair wants to double the number of passengers in Morocco to more than 10 million per year by 2027. In the future, the airline also wants to fly to Dakhla and Nador.

The arrival of Ryanair is good news for Moroccan tourism. The low prices will encourage more people to make domestic trips. In addition, the flights will help reduce the isolation of cities such as Ouarzazate, Essaouira and Errachidia.
