There was another problem with a Boeing plane last weekend. Ground staff at Johannesburg Airport noticed a defect in the undercarriage of a Boeing 737 when the plane had just taken off. The pilot was ordered to return to OR Tambo International Airport, but when he made an emergency landing, a sudden bang sounded and the plane lost a wheel.

One of the Boeing’s rear wheels had collided with something and come loose during takeoff, but this was quickly noticed by the ground crew. The pilot was asked to fly over the airport for a while and was ordered to immediately land the aircraft when it became clear that the undercarriage was damaged.

During the emergency landing, the wheel completely disintegrated the moment the Boeing hit the tarmac. No injuries were reported and the passengers were given the opportunity to take another flight to San Francisco. “All praise for our crew on the plane,” said airline FlySafair. “Their training and experience ensured that everyone on board was unharmed.”

It is not the first incident for Boeing, which has been plagued by such incidents for several months. At the beginning of this month, the hood of a Boeing became loose, in mid-January a cargo plane from the American aerospace company ran into problems due to engine trouble and in early January an Alaska Airlines Boeing lost an emergency exit during a flight.
